Kristy Hansen, LPC/MHSP
Bio
Hi! I'm Kristy Hansen, founder of Front Row Therapy, and I'm truly glad you're here. My path to this stage has been a meaningful one. About 11 years ago, while I was in counseling myself, I felt a strong pull to shift my career toward work that genuinely makes a difference in people's lives. That calling is what led me here—creating a space where your story can take center stage.
I strive to be authentic in every setting, especially in how I present myself and my work. I describe myself as real, welcoming, and colorful—yes, I even joke that I'm a bit of a unicorn. My therapeutic approach feels like a conversation in a comfortable living room: two people talking openly about experiences, challenges, and opportunities to process life's events. Life brings both triumphs and heartaches. In our time together, we honor both—celebrating your wins and exploring your losses with compassion, presence, and nonjudgment.
I specialize in working with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, self-worth challenges, life transitions, relationship concerns, grief and loss, and PTSD. I work with clients ages 14 and up, and I value working with veterans and couples as well.
Behind-the-Scenes Access
In my own mental health journey, I work intentionally to remain authentic and connected to the people in my theatre. I continue learning how to express myself with comfort, honesty, and acceptance. I enjoy bringing humor into the room—sometimes to lighten the heavy moments, sometimes simply to breathe.
I believe deeply in therapy: in the work I do for myself and in the work I am honored to do with clients. I've been married for 22 years—an evolving journey of growth, learning, and continually practicing open, honest communication. I'm also a mom to two boys, one in college and one in high school, and I share my home with two dogs, Bella and Polly. I love bright colors, and yes… I'm absolutely a Hello Kitty fan. I also enjoy music, art, and movies—creative elements that bring energy and inspiration to my life.
This is a small glimpse behind the curtain of who I am, both as a person and as a therapist. When you step into therapy with me, you'll find authenticity, acceptance, and a genuine connection as we explore the next act of your story together.
